MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard these apps use to work with other services. Connecting apps comes with Starter, Pro or any credit pack; the Free plan does not include it. ## Server URL `https://www.superebook.ai/api/mcp` Use it exactly as shown, with `www`: the address without `www` cannot sign you in. ## How it works 1. Connect once, by signing in or with an API key, following your app's guide. 2. Ask for a book: say what it is about and who it is for. Paste notes, a transcript or a draft and the book is written from them. 3. Shape the free plan: title ideas, a brief and the chapters. Planning costs nothing. 4. Agree to the price: the app is told to quote the cost in credits and wait for your yes before it writes. Writing takes 10 to 40 minutes and carries on if you close the chat. 5. Read it, then get the files. Reading in SuperEbook is free. Ask for the PDF, EPUB and DOCX links when you want them. ## Supported apps Claude app, ChatGPT, Grok, Perplexity and Le Chat (chat apps); Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Gemini CLI, Zed and Devin Desktop (coding tools). Any other app that can add a remote MCP server and send a header can connect with an API key. Each app sets which of its own plans can connect; for example ChatGPT needs a plan with full support for custom MCP servers. All but one are free; only Write the book spends credits. - `get_account`: your plan, credit balance and what each format costs. - `list_books`: your books, most recently changed first. - `create_book`: starts a book from your idea and any pasted notes, and plans it for free. - `plan_book`: plans again (free, up to 15 plans a day and 5 for any one book). - `get_plan`: the title, brief and chapters, with the price to write. - `edit_plan`: changes the title, subtitle, brief or chapters before writing. - `start_writing`: writes the book once you have agreed to the price. The only tool that spends credits. - `get_progress`: how far writing has got. - `get_download_links`: PDF, EPUB and DOCX links for a finished book plus its cover, each working for 15 minutes. ## Credits Writing costs the same credits as in SuperEbook itself. | Format | Chapters | Credits | |---|---|---| | Lead Magnet | 5 to 7 | 25 | | Research Report | 8 to 12 | 30 | | How-To Guide | 10 to 12 | 35 | | Interactive Workbook | 10 to 15 | 35 | | Course Companion | 15 to 20 | 45 | - A coloring book costs 3 credits a page, or 4 with the same characters on every page, for 12 to 50 pages. 12 pages are 36 credits. - Web research while writing adds 5 credits. - Downloads follow SuperEbook's own rule: a paid plan includes them, or you can pay for one book's files on its page. Your app gives you the link; it cannot take a payment. ## Limits for connected apps - Books apps can start writing: 5 books, or 150 credits' worth, in any 24 hours. - Drafts apps can create: 20 a day. - Notes you paste: 100,000 characters a book. Add longer files in SuperEbook itself. - Plans: 15 a day, and 5 for any one book. - Requests: 60 a minute for each connection, 600 an hour for your account. - Download links: 60 an hour; each link works for 15 minutes. - API keys: 5 at a time, and 10 new ones an hour. - Connected apps: 20 at a time; connecting one more disconnects the oldest. ## Privacy and control - The app never gets your name or email address, and can only reach your own books. - Notes sent for a book are private to your account and never used to train AI models. - Settings, then Connect apps, lists every connected app and API key. Disconnecting or revoking stops it at once. Books an app made stay in your library. ## FAQ **Does connecting an app cost anything?** No fee on top. It comes with Starter, Pro or any credit pack. Writing costs the same credits as in SuperEbook. **Can an app spend my credits without asking?** Every app is told to quote the price and wait for your yes, and if the price it sends is not the book's current one, nothing is charged. Keep the Write the book tool set to need your approval in your app. **What if I close the chat while it writes?** Writing carries on. Ask your app how far it has got, or open the book in SuperEbook. **Can an app make coloring books?** Yes. Apps can start up to 150 credits' worth a day, so up to 37 pages with the same characters on every page. Download links are the print PDFs. **What does an error like MCP_PLAN_REQUIRED mean?** The Free plan does not include MCP.
