Add SuperEbook to Claude Code. One command, then write from your terminal.
Add SuperEbook’s MCP server to Claude Code and it can plan and write books in your SuperEbook account, from notes in your project or anything you paste.
Server URL
https://www.superebook.ai/api/mcpPaste it exactly as it is, with www.
Sign in through your browser
Add the server.
Run this once in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http superebook https://www.superebook.ai/api/mcp
That adds it to the project you’re in. To have it in every project, add
--scope userafter the name:claude mcp add --transport http superebook --scope user https://www.superebook.ai/api/mcp
Sign in.
In Claude Code, type
/mcp, pick superebook and choose Authenticate. Your browser opens SuperEbook’s page: sign in if it asks, check that it names Claude Code and says you’ll go back to localhost, then choose Allow.Check it’s connected.
claude mcp listshows superebook and whether it’s connected, and so does/mcpinside Claude Code.
Or use an API key
On a computer with no browser to sign in from, such as a server or an SSH session, use a key instead.
Create a key.
In SuperEbook, open Settings → Connect apps and choose Create API key. Name it after the computer, then copy it: you see the whole key only once.
Add the server with it.
claude mcp add --transport http superebook https://www.superebook.ai/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"
Replace
YOUR_KEYwith your key.
- Claude Code saves a server added for you or for one project, key included, in
~/.claude.jsonon your computer. Keep that file to yourself. - Don’t add a key with
--scope project: project servers are saved in.mcp.json, which everyone on the project shares.
Write from your files
Claude Code can read the files in your project, so you can write a book from notes on disk: it passes up to 100,000 characters a book to SuperEbook as your material. Add longer files in SuperEbook itself.
- “Read notes/webinar.md and use SuperEbook to turn it into a lead magnet. Show me the plan first.”
- “List my SuperEbook books and check how far the newest one has got.”
- “What would a course companion cost in SuperEbook credits?”
More than one computer
Claude Code signs in as the same app on every computer, and a new sign-in replaces the last one: sign in on a second computer and the first is signed out. To use Claude Code on several computers at once, give each its own API key.
Removing it
claude mcp remove superebook
That removes the server and the sign-in Claude Code kept for it. To end the connection on SuperEbook’s side at once, disconnect it in Settings → Connect apps too.
To sign in again without removing it, open /mcp, choose Clear authentication, then Authenticate.
If it doesn’t work
- /mcp shows superebook isn’t signed in
- Choose Authenticate again. It happens after you disconnect it in Settings, after 30 days unused, or after Claude Code signs in on another computer.
- It can’t connect with a key
- Check that the whole key follows “Bearer ” in the header, and that it isn’t revoked in Settings → Connect apps. A revoked key stops at once; make a new one.
- The browser page says “This link doesn’t work”
- Run /mcp, pick superebook and choose Authenticate again: a sign-in link works once, within 30 minutes.
- “You can have 5 keys.”
- Revoke a key you no longer use in Settings → Connect apps, then create another.
For credits, limits and the other messages Claude may relay, see if something goes wrong.
